10. јануар је дан када се oбележава Дан поштовања кућних биљака. Овај празник осмислио је Боб Метјуз (енг. Bob Matthews), власник и оперативац вебсајта Gardensnet.com. Идеја је била да се, после узбуђења око новогодишњих празника, људи посвете својим биљкама у кући, које постану често занемарене у овом празничном периоду. Овај дан је одличан да се подсетимо колико су наши кућни цимери важни и посебни, као и да им пружимо мало више пажње.
Који су бенефити гајења кућних биљака?
- Могу да побољшају квалитет ваздуха
Један он најочигледнијих позитивних ефеката је да биљке помоћу фотосинезе, као нуспроизвод стварају кисеоник. Уз светлосну енергију и воду, за овај процес потребан им је и угљен-диоксид, који ми издишемо. Можемо да кажемо да и биљке знају за рециклажу.

- Имају терапеутско дејство и смањују ниво стреса
Нека истраживања показују да гајење и неговање биљака у затвореном простору може смањити физичке и психичке симптоме стреса.
